Conduction

Conduction is a way that energy can be transferred. Metals have a high thermal conductivity so are great conductors (see the full experiment in real time in the video at the bottom of this page).

Convection

When a fluid (liquid of gas) is heated it expands, becomes less dense and rises up. This is called convection

Infrared

The emission and absorption of radiation are related to surface and temperature.
